Uruguay.—The amount of meat sent from this country during the year under review
showed a considerable decrease, e.g., Beef, 7,157 tons, against 8,538 tons, and mutton,
1,015 tons against 2,916 tons for 1930. This is to be regretted, as the quality of meat from
this country showed improvement, and the same remark applies to the system of inspection.

For particulars as to unsound food, videTables Nos. 16 and 17. The amount of diseased meat taken is here shown:—
