Infantile Mortality.
151 deaths of St. Pancras infants under one year of age occurred during 1933. This
gives an Infant Mortality rate (number of deaths under one year of age per 1,000 births) of
58. The corresponding rate for the previous year was 69.
The following table gives the deaths and death rates of both legitimate and illegitimate
infants for 1933:—

rates for England and Wales and the Great Towns are set out on page 12.
On the next two pages tables are given which indicate
1. The causes of death of all children under one year of age during 1933,
classified according to age at death.
2. The causes of death of children under one year of age during the ten
previous years. In this table the number of births in each year is also given
for reference.
