As compared with the average of previous years there was an increase in the number
of deaths due to Heart Disease, Cancer, Injuries and Influenza; and a decrease in those
attributed to Tuberculosis, Pneumonia, Enteritis and Bronchitis.
Deaths of Aged Person.
The corrected number of deaths of residents at 65 years of age and upwards, which
occurred during the year 1933 was 1,204. Of these 614 were between the ages of 65 and 75;
452 were between the ages of 75 and 85, and 138 were 85 years of age and upwards.

The number of deaths and the death rates per 1000 of population for each of the Wards during the past year were as follows, the figures for the preceding year being also given for comparison:—
