In addition to the Clinic provided by the Borough Council, Artificial Light Treatment
is available at the Almeric Paget Clinic, Rochford Street, the Institute of Bay Therapy,
Camden Road, and also at the Voluntary General Hospitals in the Borough.
The Borough Council's Dental Clinic, 40, Argyle Square.
At this clinic dental treatment is provided, under the Maternity and Child Welfare
Scheme, for nursing or expectant mothers and children under five years of age who are in
attendance at the various Welfare Centres.
For some time consultations were held every Monday and Wednesday in the afternoon,
and on alternate Fridays in the morning.
In February, Mrs. Murch, l.d.s., the Dentist in charge of the Clinic, intimated that,
owing to the reduction in the numbers attending, a decrease in the number of consultations
could be made.
It was suggested that every Wednesday afternoon for fillings, etc., and each third
Monday for gas (with an extra clinic occasionally) would be adequate.
This re-arrangement of sessions was approved and adopted.
No charge is made for extractions, fillings or scaling, but the patients contribute what
they can reasonably afford towards the cost of dentures.
