MARRIAGES.
The number of marriages celebrated in 1926 was 1,895. This is equal to a rate of 8.7
per 1,000 of total population.
BIRTHS.
The number of births registered during the year belonging to St. Pancras was 3,612,
making an annual birth-rate of 16.7 per 1,000 of population. The total number of
births actually registered as having taken place in the Borough was 4,129. This figure
has to be corrected by deducting the births of non-residents which occurred in various
public institutions in the Borough—these numbered 1,095, and adding the births of parishioners
which occurred outside the Borough—these numbered 578. The corrected figure is therefore
as stated above, 3,612.
