It is noteworthy that the distribution of deaths from tuberculosis in the four
districts differs from that of total deaths (see page 16).
In both cases the North district suffered least. But whereas the East had
the highest general death-rate, it is a good second to the North as regards
lightness of tuberculosis death-rate. The South division had by far the highest
death-rate from all forms of tuberculosis.
It is possible that these variations in general and tuberculosis death-rates are
due to the kind of industrial employment in the four divisions.

table inset at pages 24-25.
