SEPTIC DISEASES.
Erysipelas caused 28 deaths in 1887, in the two preceding years the numbers
being 18 and 27; Pyoemia and Septicaemia 10 against 5 and 7 in the preceding
year; and Puerperal Fever 11 against 9 and 15 in 1886 and 1885.
VIOLENT DEATHS.
The number of deaths from violence was 172, of which 137 were due the
accident or negligence, 15 to homicide, and 20 to suicide. The deaths from
homicide are considerably above the average, but the other classes of violent
deaths are the mean number of former years.
UNCERTIFIED DEATHS.
The number of uncertified deaths during 1887 was 15, 10 of which occurred
in the Kentish Town Sub-District. This number is nearly twice as many a
the average of the three preceding years.
INQUESTS.
The number of inquests held in St. Pancras during the year was 463 above
the average number.
