108 of the deaths from Diarrhoea and Zymotic Enteritis out of
120, and 36 out of 53 from Enteritis occurred during the third quarter
of the year.
The number of deaths from both these diseases shows a decrease
of 54 compared with the year 1904 during the third quarter, and a
decrease of 74 during the whole year.
The number of deaths from Diarrhoea, Zymotic Enteritis and
Enteritis under one year represents 211 per cent. of the total mortality
at that age, compared with 28.8 per cent. in 1904, so that there
has been a considerable reduction.
Cpecial enquiries were made in the case of 131 of the deaths from
Diarrhoea and Enteritis, and the following Table shows the methods of
feeding the infants who died.
