decrease in each of ihe sub-districts compared with the year 1904, but
this was marked in the Putney sub-district, where only two deaths
occurred, compared with 24 in the previous year.
The death-rate was 147 per 1,000, compared with 79 in 1904.
The death-rate for the whole of London was 72, compared with 103
in 1904.
The death-rate in the sub-districts was as follows :—Clapham -37,
Putney '07, Streatham .25, Tooting 1.38, and Wandsworth -69.
In each of the five sub-districts there has been a decided fall in
this rate with the exception of Tooting, where the fall is only '09 per
1,000.
Of the total number of deaths registered, 120 or 87 per cent. were
of infants under one year.
Including Enteritis the total number of deaths was 203, compared
with 301 in 1904 and 162 in 1903.
The following Table shows the number of deaths from Diarrhoea
and Enteritis under one year of age, for the four quarters for 1905 and
the four previous years.
