The ditch on the south-west side from Newland's Farm to a point
about 200 feet east of the junction of Portsmouth Road
and Kingston Road, has been piped with 9-inch and
12-inch pipes, and filled up, and the site added to the public way. The
work was done by Unemployed labour at a cost of £259 is. 9d.
The ditch on the south-west side from Stag Lane to Beverley
Brook, has been piped with 6-inch, 9-inch, 12-inch, 15-inch, and 18inch
pipes, and filled up, and the site added to the public way at a
cost of £196 3s. 1od.
The sewer beneath house No. 1, Lyham Road, has been re-conLyhamRoad.
constructed at a cost of £10 1 8s. 1d.
The defective 12-inch pipe sewer has been taken up and replaced
Newton's by a 9-inch pipe sewer on concrete, at a cost of

Road.
One of Adam's Patent Automatic Sewage Lifts has been constructed
at Priest's Bridge with 4-inch cast-iron rising
main, 9-inch pipe sewer and three manholes, to drain
Nos. 466, 468, 474, 476, 478, 480, 482 and 484, Upper Richmond
Road and Granville Lodge, which had hitherto drained into cesspools.
