Report—Public Analyst.
In this division the following were examined:— | |
Brandy | 2 samples. |
Whiskey | 1 ,, |
Gin | 1 ,, |
4 samples. |
Of the four samples examined in this division, one brandy was
found to be diluted to the extent of 10.8 degrees below legal limit.
This indicates a percentage of adulteration of 25, whereas in 1903
all the samples of alcoholic beverages submitted for analysis proved
to be genuine.
VII.—Confectionery.
Only two samples were submitted under this head—one of Ice
Cream and the other of Sweets—and both were found to be genuine.
In conclusion, I may add that the Food and Drug supply of the
Borough has slightly improved during the year, the percentage of
impurity having fallen from 12.34 in 1903 to 11.33 in 1904.
