The above were the cause of 85 per cent. of the total deaths,
compared with 85.8 in 1903, 83.9 in 1902, and 85.3 in 1901.
Cancer.
The total number of deaths from Cancer and other malignant
diseases was 242, a decrease of five compared with 1903, but an
increase of 36.9 compared with the corrected decennial average.
The corrected death-rate was .92, compared with 98 in 1903, and
.90 in 1902.
The number of deaths and the death-rate in each sub-district
was as follows:—Clapham 59 and 1.07, Putney 27 and 1.00,
Streatham 72 and 86, Tooting 23 and 87, and Wandsworth 61 and
.83.
88 of the total deaths were of males and 154 of females, a
decrease of three males and two females compared with 1903.
