Metropolis, and which would produce a corrected total of
245, and a mortality rate of 24.5 per 1,000. The corrected
total of deaths included 111 males and 134 females.
The following Table will show the distribution of
deaths of "residents" and "non-residents" of those
registered during the year in the sub-district.

Natural increase. The excess of births registered over the
corrected number of deaths recorded was two
hundred and thirty three. The rate of natural increase
was therefore equal to 23.3 per 1,000 of. the population.
Table II. gives the number of births and deaths, birthrates
and death-rates, and rates of natural increase
during the past twelve years.
