It is important to bear in mind, when comparing the
issues in the different classes of literature, that books in
the classes of fiction, being read more quickly, are
issued more frequently than those belonging to the other
sections of the libraries.
Readers' Tickets.
Tickets to the number of 7,794 were issued
readers, namely : 4,863 at the Central
Library, and 2,931 at the Branch. As these tickets
are available at both Institutions, it is therefore impossible
to state how many persons restrict themselves
to the use of the Central or Branch Library respectively.
Tickets are granted for a period of twelve months.
Number of volumes inStock.
At the 31st March, 1901, the Streatham
Public Libraries contained a stock of 23,703
volumes, namely: 18,380 at the Central, and
5,323 at the Branch.
