There were 77 deaths in this class, 38 were
their of miles and 39 of females. This yields a per
.Prevalence
and centage of l3.0 upon the deaths from all causes
Fatality. during the year, as against 14.3 per cent last
year, and gives a death-rate of 1.7 per 1,000 of the
population.
More than half the mortality was due to diphtheria
and whooping-cough.
The subjoined table contrasts all the deaths resulting
from the seven principal epidemic diseases, with the
death-rate therefrom, as well as the death-rate from all
diseases during the last ten years.

Referring to the table, it will be seen that there was
no death from Small Pox, nor was any case removed to
hospital, it may therefore be assumed that the disease
was not present.
