FISH.
Fish brought from the London Market and found to be unsound
on arrival at its destination is submitted for examination,
condemned, surrendered and destroyed, and a " condemnment "
note is given, which enables the dealer to obtain a credit from
the wholesaler. This arrangement is quite good and results in
prompt notification.
The following fish was condemned and destroyed:—
Haddocks 238 lbs.
Kippers 264 lbs.
Dog fish 49 lbs.
Other fish 70 lbs.
621 lbs.
All diseased meat and food is destroyed at the Council's
incinerator.
Particular attention has been paid to all premises where food
is prepared or sold in order to ensure that satisfactory standards
of quality and cleanliness are maintained.
