Muswell Hill, West Hornsey and Highgate Wards shew the
greatest increases of population, though in these Wards the increases
are much less than in the preceding twelve months.
Crouch End Ward has a smaller increase of population.
In Finsbury Park Ward the population is almost the same
as that of two years ago, last year there appeared to be a decrease
of 97, and this is now almost counterbalanced by an increase of
91 in 1908.
In East Hornsey we have been accustomed to a fairly large
annual increase, but this year the estimated population shews a
decrease when compared with the estimated population of 1907.
North and South Haringey and Stroud Green Wards have
usually shewn small increases in population each year. In 1908
the estimated population for each of these Wards is lower than
that of a year ago.
Density of Population.—The number of persons per acre
has increased from 25 at the date of the last census to 31.5 in the
middle of 1908. In 1906 the number of persons per acre was 30.2.
North Haringey is the highest with a density of 80, and probably
South Haringey and Finsbury Park are somewhat understated
here.
