Bakehouses.—There are 40 Bakehouses in the Borough.
One bakehouse has been added to the list during the year, and at
one bakehouse the business has been discontinued, leaving the total
the same as last year.
Six of the bakehouses are underground bakehouses.
Frequent inspections have been made, and, speaking generally,
the condition of the bakehouses has been satisfactory.
The Dairies and Milkshops, numbering 70, and the 3 Cowsheds
have been frequently visited. In 25 instances the attention of the
occupier has been called to contraventions of the bye-laws and
regulations, and the matter has received proper attention.
The number of premises now on the list for periodical inspection
is 495, as compared with 412 last year and with 152 two years
ago.
The preliminary notices issued numbered 921, as against 901
in 1904, and 340 in 1903. The statutory notices served were 390,
as against 138 in 1904 and 73 in 1903.
