Hospital Isolation —The proportion of cases isolated in Infectious
Disease Hospitals continues to increase, so that during the year no less than
2,543 out of 2,947 cases notified were isolated in hospital. This represents the
high figure of 86.3 per cent, of all the cases notified, and is the largest proportion
hitherto recorded.
More and more do people desire the removal of their children, and, for
the matter of that, of adults, to the Metropolitan Asylum Boards Hospitals,
when they are attacked, and, indeed, at times this demand for isolation is unreasonable
as in many instances the parents might easily arrange for the proper
