SEPTIC DISEASES.
These include Erysipelas, Pyaemia, Septicæmia and so-called Puerperal
Fever, and as a group caused 43 deaths as contrasted with 40 in 1909, and 44
in 1908.
Erysipelas.—Nine deaths occurred from Erysipelas, as contrasted with
an average of 14 in the preceding 13 years. Of the deaths, 3 were among
infants aged from 2 to 7 months old.
No deaths occurred in the sub-districts of Tufnell, Upper Holloway and
Tollington, while two were registered in Lower Holloway, 1 in Highbury, 4
in Barnsbury, and 2 in Islington South-East.
The returns from these diseases during the last fourteen years were as
follows:—
