APPENDICITIS.
There were 27 deaths registered from appendicitis, or two more than in
each of the preceding years.
Altogether 224 deaths have been known since 1902, or an average of 25
per annum. The mortality, as seen by the statement below, seems to become
less as age advances, and particularly after the ten years ending with the 45th
year, when there is a drop from 26 to 20; in the next decade there is a fall
to 14; in the decade succeeding this there is a further fall to 10; while no
deaths have been registered among persons above this last-mentioned age.
The subjoined tabular statement has been prepared to show the ages at
which people died from the disease.
