Milk, Butter, and Oleaginous Foods.
As many as 936 of these foods were submitted to the) Public Analyst, of
which he returned 96, or 10.2 per cent., as adulterated or sold contrary to the
provisions of the Adulteration Acts. Since 1905 the percentages of these
foods discovered to be adulterated were follows:—
1905 7.2 per cent 1908 9.5 per cent.

Milk.—620 samples were submitted to the Public Analyst, who reported
against 58, or 9.3 per cent., as adulterated. This is the largest percentage of
adulteration that has been obtained since 1906. It compares with 6.9 per
cent. in 1909, with 8.6 per cent. in 1908, with 6.7 per cent. in 1907, and 11.8
per cent. in 1906.
