Density of Population—The actual area on which the people live
is 2,800 acres; consequently there are 117 persons living on each acre, while
if the gross acreage be considered the number will be 106.
It has frequently been pointed out that the density of the population in
Islington is very high, and far above that of London, in which it is 60 .
Whether we compare Islington with the great majority of the London
Boroughs or with the provincial towns, it is found that very few of the former
and none of the latter show a greater crowding of the people.
