E. FOOD SUPPLY.
During 1910 visits have been paid to the various classes of business as follows:—

Eleven statutory notices were served and police.court proceedings were
taken in one instance (see above).
Ice.cream Premises.—This commodity is made at 150 premises, each
of which was kept under supervision. In 3 instances defects affecting
this particular part of the business were remedied. The owner of
certain premises which were unfit, for the purpose was called upon to
discontinue making or dealing in ice.creams at the premises until they
were made to comply with Section 42 General Powers Act, 1902.
Bakehouses.—At the end of 1909 there were 13 above.ground and
71 underground in use. During 1910 a new above.ground bakehouse
has been added. All the bakehouses were inspected, and cleansing
carried out twice a year. In several instances there was some delay in
having the work done, and proceedings were threatened. One baker
was also warned that he was not keeping the floors, &c., as clean as
he ought to do.
Certification of Premises, &e.—As Certifying Officer for the City of
Westminster for all meat foods prepared or packed for export to several
foreign States, I have granted 152 certificates during 1910, 32 for the
United States, 48 for the Philippine Islands, 63 for the Argentine,
and 9 for Venezuela.
