DISINFECTION.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 14,936. Of this number 2,201 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, as against 3,696 rooms in 1922. 10,458 periodical sprayings of
rooms occupied by Phthisical patients were also carried out during the
year.
680 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 728 in 1922.
Among the total number of disinfections (14,936) it was found
necessary to strip 505 rooms. Of these 394 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases, 110 after the termination of cases of Phthisis, and
1 was verminous.
