During the year under consideration 409 cases were notified, as
against 802 cases in 1922. The number of deaths from this disease
was 4.
This is the lowest number of cases notified since 1917, and the
deaths the lowest recorded since 1919.

Of the 409 cases notified in the present year, as many as 402 were
removed to hospital, i.e., 98.3 per cent., as against 99 0 per cent. for
last year.
The deaths in the 402 cases sent to hospital numbered 4, a
mortality of 10 per cent.
In regard to the 7 cases nursed at home, they all recovered.
The annual rate of mortality was 0 02.
