POLICE COURT PROCEEDINGS.
During 1902, 170 summonses were taken out under the above Acts'
Convictions have been obtained in 105 instances, 34 summonses were
withdrawn, mainly in cases where duplicate summonses had been taken
out against persons who served the Inspector, but who were not the
actual proprietors of the business. 22 summonses were dismissed, 8
summonses were adjourned sine die, and 1 summons was not served, the
defendant having absconded.
