GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES
FOR THE BOROUGH.
(i) Public Health Officers of the Authority.
A list of the Staff is shown at the commencement of the Report,
page 4.
During the year the following changes have taken place in the
personnel of the Public Health Staff:—
Sanitary Inspectors.
Mr. H. Luke (vice Mr. S. Kelly, transferred to a District) commenced
duty on 22nd January as Houses Let in Lodgings Inspector.
Mr. H. Leonard resigned on 30th November and was succeeded by
Mr. A. Dove who had been temporarily employed since 1st May on account
of Smallpox.
Miss M. E. Davies resigned the post of Lady Sanitary Inspector on
24th February, and Miss D. A. E. Landray, one of the Health Visitors,
was appointed to the post and commenced these duties on 1st June.
Disinfecting Station, Cleansing Station and Shelter.
Mr. A. Fogg (apparatus attendant) resigned after 40 years' service
on 16th August. His place was filled by Mr. M. Renwick, who was
succeeded by Mr. A. E. Rogers.
Mrs. Stollery (Assistant Attendant) retired on reaching the age-limit
on 31st May and was succeeded by Mrs. Allan.
Smallpox.
In order to cope with the increase in Smallpox the following temporary
staff was appointed:—
Assistant to the M .0 .H.—Dr. H. D. Chalke (commenced 31st March).
