The corrected birth rate per 1,000 population was 19.1, as against
22.7, 21.6, 19.8, 19.9 and 19.1, for the years 1925-1929.
During the year, 2,525 notifications were received under the
Notification of Births Act, 1907.
MARRIAGES.
During the year the marriages of 2,952 persons were registered,
giving a rate of 18.4, as against 16.2, 15.8, 17.5,17.8 and 17.8 in the
five years 1925-1929.
DEATHS.
1,618 deaths were registered as having occurred in the Borough.
245 deaths of non-residents must be deducted, and 309 deaths of Poplar
residents which occurred outside the Borough must be added, giving a
net total of x ,682 and a rate of 10.5 per 1,000 of the estimated population.
The natural increase of population represented by excess of births
over deaths was 1,374.
