Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1928.
In 1928 the Council appointed the Medical Officer of Health and the
two Meat and Food Inspectors as the officers for the enforcement of the
provisions of the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1928.
ANNUAL REPORT OF THE PUBLIC ANALYST.
During the year 1930, 807 samples were examined under the Food
and Drugs (Adulteration) Act, 19 of these samples (milks) were submitted
by a neighbouring Authority, the remainder by the Inspectors. No
samples were submitted during the year by the general public.
143 of the samples were purchased informally.
54 of the samples were found to be adulterated, in addition 43 other
samples were of inferior quality or doubtful purity.
