[Appendix IV.
The two sub-districts, St. Mary and St. John, are so different in many respects that it is useful
to compare the incidence of mortality in the two. In Table 22 (see preceding page) the mortality
rates from measles per 1,000 persons aged 0-15 years are set out together with the quinquennial
means. The statistics prior to 1875 are unfortunately not on record.
In Tables 23, 24, and 25 full particulars are given of the deaths in the last two epidemics,
viz., those of 1898 and 1900.
