Tuberculosis.

Notification.—During the year 287 new cases of pulmonary, and 60 new cases of non-pulmonary tuberculosis were received.

The number of cases on the tuberculosis register at the commencement and end of the year is shown in the following table:—

Mortality.—During the year 129 persons died from pulmonary
tuberculosis, and 13 died from other forms of this disease.
The death rate from pulmonary tuberculosis was 0.58 per 1,000
inhabitants, as compared with 0.64 per thousand in 1933.
