Undesignated Milk—Thirty-seven samples of undesignated milk,
taken from local dairymen in the course of delivery to their customers,
were submitted for examination. Three of the samples were of
sufficiently high quality to comply with the standard laid down for
"Certified" Milk, and 14 were within the standard for "Grade A"
Milk. In every instance where the milk showed a bacterial count of
over 200,000 per c.c., the retailer concerned was interviewed and
efforts made to ascertain the cause of the high bacterial count. The
result of this action was reflected in subsequent samples taken from
the same retailers, which in most cases revealed counts of under
200,000 per c.c.
