In addition 41 cases were reported or otherwise came to the knowledge
of the Medical Officer of Health, making a total of 108 cases
for the year.
The case rate per 1,000 population (excluding inward transfers)
was 0.65 or 65 per 100,000. At the end of the year there were 798
pulmonary cases and 50 non-pulmonary cases of tuberculosis on the
Register. This is equal to a morbidity rate per 1,000 population of
7.8 in the case of pulmonary, and 0.5 in the case of non-pulmonary
tuberculosis or 8.3 both types.
The tables on page 17 give details of additions and deletions of
cases on the Register during the year.
Deaths from Tuberculosis.
During 1964 deaths from tuberculosis registered as belonging to the
Borough of Battersea numbered 6. All were due to pulmonary tuberculosis.

The death rates per 100,000 of the population during the 60 years ended 1960 in quinquennial averages, and for the years 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964 are given in the following table : —
