The deaths of 868 residents of Battersea aged 65 years and
upwards were registered during 1963. These 868 deaths constituted
67.4 per cent. of the total deaths at all ages.
The natural increase of population (that is, excess of births over
deaths) was 1,073 in 1963 as compared with 841 in 1962.

The causes of the 1,288 deaths in 1963, classified in age groups, are shown in the following table, compiled from figures supplied by the Registrar-General: — CAUSES OF DEATH IN AGE GROUPS DURING 1963.
