Births.
The number of live births allocated to Camberwell after
adjustment for inward and outward transfers was 2,905,
comprising 1,450 males and 1,455 females. One hundred and
ninety-four of these births were illegitimate. Still births
numbered 70, representing 2.3 per cent, of the total births, an
increase of 0.4 per cent, on the previous year. The following
table compares the birth rates in England and Wales, London
and Camberwell for the past five years:—
