GENERAL INFORMATION AND STATISTICS.
The Borough of Camberwell, which covers approximately
seven square miles, is roughly pear-shaped. The sub-soil
consists mainly of clay with a few small scattered areas of gravel.
The southern portion of the borough is residential and is well
provided with parks and open spaces; such amenities however,
are sadly lacking in the northern area which is mainly industrial.
