Slaughterhouses.
Only one of the three licensed slaughterhouses in the Borough
was used during the year. The following table giving particulars
of the animals slaughtered is set out in the form laid
down by the Ministry of Health in Circular 2/50.

Public Health (Meat) Regulations.
During the year a number of complaints were received of
the conditions under which meat is transported by road and
handled in the Borough. At present the transport of meat
and edible offal for sale for human consumption, except for the
relatively small number of pig carcases sold direct by selfsuppliers
to pork butchers and the small quantities of meat
products imported by private individuals under licence, is
under the general direction of the Ministry of Food. The
