Slaughter
houses.
In the year 1914 the County Council received 213 applications for licences for slaughter-houses and granted 210. The following table shows the numbers of applications received and the numbers of slaughter-houses licensed in recent years. It will be seen that the numbers of these premises is continually decreasing •:—

The number of slaughter-houses in each metropolitan borough (other than those under the jurisdiction of the City Corporation) and the frequency with which these slaughter-houses were inspected, is shown in the following table :—
