In comparing the deaths shown in Table 1 with those in 1921,
it is found that there has been a marked increase of deaths from
measles (84 as compared with 3), whooping cough (80 as compared
with 29), influenza (158 as compared with 51).
The deaths from disease of the respiratory organs, other than
phthisis, show an increase, these being 802, as compared with 617.
Cancer was responsible for 326 deaths, as compared with 343.
