Cleansing Station.
During 1915,522 school children and 14 children under school age
and 2 adults were cleansed at the Cleansing Station by the Council's
Attendant, and while this was in progress their clothes were thoroughly
disinfected. The figures are more than double those of the previous
year.
Customs and Inland Revenue Acts.
During the year applications for certificates under these Acts
were received in respect of 21 dwellings, this number being 4 more
than the number for which applications were made in 1914.
Smoke Nuisances.
During the year observations were made in 14 instances by
the Sanitary Inspectors. One Intimation Notice was sent and one
Statutory Notice served.
Public Mortuary.
During the year the bodies of 103 persons were brought to the
mortuary—73 by order of the Coroner, 15 by the Police, and 15 at the
request of friends of deceased persons.
In 27 instances inquests only were held, and in 62 instances
post mortem examinations were made and inquests followed.

Complaints. During 1915, 658 complaints were made of the existence of insanitary conditions, relating to 801 nuisances as follows:-
