INFANTILE MORTALITY.
Of the 1671 deaths recorded during the year, 366 were of infants
under one year of age. During the past ten years the rate has fallen
from 159 to 103 per 1,000 births registered, a decrease of 56 per
1,000; for the year under review the rate was 123,
which is 10 per 1,000 less than the average for the past ten years.
The following table shows the Infantile Mortality per 1,000 births for the past ten years :— For details of the causes of deaths of infants see Table No. 5.

REGISTRARS' DISTRICTS.
Owing to the death of Dr. Dixon, the Registrar for "Deptford
Central," the Registrar - General, after a conference with the
Greenwich Board of Guardians, rearranged the Registrars' districts,
making them coterminous with one or more of the wards of the
borough.
In consequence of the alteration, the statistics of the borough
will, in future, be based entirely on the population of the wards,
