tuberculous disease occurring in Hackney during 1910 was 335,
which are classified as follows:—

This number of deaths gives an annual mortality rate of nearly 1.4 per 1,000 living. The deaths are distributed in the sub-districts of the Borough, as follows:—

Cancer.—To the different varieties of this disease were attributed
222 deaths during 1910. This shows an increase of 8 deaths upon
the number registered during 1909. The annual death rate from
cancer for the former year is therefore .93 per 1,000 persons living.
