Report on the sanitary condition of the Hackney District for the year 1910

Continued Fever.—No case of continued fever was notified
during the year.
Puerperal Fever.—There were 15 cases of puerperal fever
notified during the year, 9 of which were removed to hospital.
The deaths from this disease numbered four. The attack rate for
the year was 21 per 1,000 births, and the death rate .72 per 1,000
births.
Plague.— No case of Plague occurred in the Borough during last
year.
Erysipelas.—There were 252 cases of Erysipelas notified during
1910. This is equal to an attack rate of 1.06 per 1,000 living.
Of the 252 cases notified, 97 or 38 per cent, of the total were
removed to hospital. There were 11 deaths due to Erysipelas,
which is equal to a death rate of 43'6 per 1,000 attacked, and "04
per 1,000 living.

Cerebro Spinal Fever.—There were six cases of this disease
notified in the Borough during 1910, of which four were removed to
hospital. There were five deaths due to this disease during the
same period.
Glanders, Anthrax and Hydrophobia in Man.—One fatal case
of hydrophobia in man was notified during the year.
B.—Non-notifiable Infectious Disease.
Influenza.—To this disease were ascribed 34 deaths in Hackney
during 1910. This is a decline of 24 upon the number registered
