Patients would, in the first instance, except
under some exceptional circumstances, be sent to .
the Sanatorium for one month, an extension being
granted in the case of those who showed great progress
towards recovery. We
Recommend— That a contract be entered into
by the Council with the authorities of the Fairlight
Sanatorium, Hastings, for the maintenance of six
beds in that Institution for a period of twelve
months, for the reception of poor persons in the
early stages of consumption, resident in the
Borough, at a charge of £50 per bed per annum.
T. Brooks,
Chairman.
The recommendation was accepted by the Council,
and ultimately a contract was entered into with the
managing Committee of the Fairlight Sanatorium, and
six beds were placed at the disposal of the Public
Health Committee; the occupation of these, however,
did not commence until 1911.
