DEATHS OF INFANTS.
Nearly one-fourth of the total deaths at all ages were
those of infants under one year. These numbered 516,
giving an infantile death rate of 122.6 per thousand
births. We continue to show some improvement in
this direction over past years, for our mortality has
fallen three points below that of 1909; but, unfortunately,
we are still twenty per thousand above the
general Metropolitan rate, which has fallen to 103, as
against 108 for the previous year.
