The number of deaths registered was 167, equal to an annual
rate of 1.40 per 1,000 persons living, compared with 1.30, 1.55 and
1.69 for the three preceding years.
The rate of mortality for the County of London was 1.31.
There were 61 deaths in North Deptford, 41 in South Deptford,
and 65 in Central Deptford.
RESPIRATORY DISEASES.
Under this heading are included Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Pleurisy,
and other diseases of the respiratory organs.
The number of deaths registered during the year was 374,
compared with 336, 373 and 329 for the preceding three years. Of
these deaths 65 were of children under one year of age, 56 over one
and under five years, and 135 were persons over 65 years of age.
