MARRIAGES AND MARRIAGE-RATE.
The number of marriages registered during the year was
1,273, compared with 1,308, 1,205 and 1,182 in the three
preceding years.
The marriage-rate—i.e., the number of persons married per
1,000 inhabitants—was 16.1, the average rate for the previous
ten years being 15.9.
