Forty-fifth annual report on the health and sanitary condition of the Borough of Islington

Compared with the average of the preceding seven years there was an increased
mortality of very young infants from the following diseases:—Measles 3, Whooping
Cough 1, Syphilis 4, Premature Births 6, Pneumonia 22, Dentition 3, and
Gastritis 12.
On the other hand there was a decrease of 9 deaths from Diarrhoea, 29 from
Tabes Mesenterica, 3 from Tubercular Meningitis, 1 from unclassed developmental
diseases, 1 from Erysipelas, 3 from Inflammation of the Brain and its Membranes,
8 from Convulsions, 11 from Bronchitis, 9 from Enteritis, 5 from Suffocation,
31 from Debility, 14 from Marasmus, n from Inanition, and 23 from all other
unspecified diseases.
