Clinics \nd Treatment Centres.
x. Maternity and ChildWelfare Centres.—Held weekly
at the Y.M.C.A. Building, and is under direct control of
the District Council. Dr. Nora Beaumont is in attendance
at each session.
A Joint Ante-Natal Clinic is held at College-road,
Harrow, to which a contribution is made by the District
Council, subject to the approval of the Ministry of
Health.
2. Day Nurseries.—None in District.
3. School Clinics.—These are under the control of the
County Education Committee.
4. Tuberculosis.—Dispensary at 38, Welldon Crescent,
under the control of the County Council.
5. Venereal Disease.—There are many centres in the
County under the control of the County Council, but
none in this District.
Hospitals Provided or Subsidised by the Local
Authority, or by the County Council.
1. Tuberculosis.—Cases are sent to the various Sanatoriums
in the County, There are also some beds for
patients in Sanatoriums situated outside the County.
2. Maternity.—Harrow, Wealdstone and District War
Memorial Maternity Hostel, 10, College Road, Harrow.
A contribution is made by the District Council, subject
to the approval of the Ministry of Health.
3. Children.—Nil.
4. Fever.—Patients are sent to the Hendon R.D.C.
Isolation Hospital, Acton Isolation Hospital or London
Fever Hospital by arrangement.
5. Smallpox.—For treatment of Smallpox, Wealdstone
is one of the Constituent Authorities under the Middlesex
District Joint Smallpox Hospital Board.
There is no Institutional provision for unmarried
mothers, illegitimate infants and homeless children in the
District.
Ambulance Facilities.
(a) For Infectious Cases.—Hired as required from other
Authorities.
(b) For Non-Infectious and Accident Cases.—St. John
Ambulance Association. Garage provided free by the
Council.
